The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in Preston. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours: 08:30 am start

Pay Rate: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.54 after 40 hours

Location: Preston, PR2

The role:

Mainly collections with some deliveries (6- 10 collections and 1-5 deliveries)
Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers' locations.
Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections/deliveries.
Operate devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
Valid and up-to-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
·Full understanding of WTD legislation.
Excellent communication skills.
A safety-first mindset.
