About the Job
The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Carlisle area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Shifts: Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full-time or part-time available)
Hours: Afters/ Nights (Flexibility for start times required)

Pay Rate:
  • Midweek - £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks
  • Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
  • Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks
  • Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
  • Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
  • Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks

The role:
  • · Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
  • · Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
  • · Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
  • · Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
  • · Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
  • · Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
  • · Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:
  • · Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • · Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
  • · Valid and up-to-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • · No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • · Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
  • · Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
  • · Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
  • · Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • · Excellent communication skills.
  • · A safety-first mindset.
