About the Job
The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Wolverhampton area. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 18:00 pm start 
Location: Wolverhampton, WV4
Pay: £19.17 per hour PAYE 
Job Type: Temp to perm

The role:
  • Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations – please note that drivers will be required to conduct duties between two other locations close by (WV14 & WV4)
  • Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
  • Conduct pre and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain a seamless workflow.
  • Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
  • Assist with other yard duties as needed.

Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
  • 2 years’ experience required
  • Tug experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided
  • Valid and up-to-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
